Michael Jackson and the Lesbian That Loved Him

michael.jpgIn fourth grade, I would strut around the schoolyard in my red Michael Jackson “Beat It” jacket. It had exactly 27 zippers, just like the King of Pop’s jacket. To say I loved him is an understatement. I idolized him, emulated him, cried over him, devoured every Michael Jackson poster and pin I could find. Then, one day, my mom came to me and said, “we have tickets to the Michael Jackson concert.” I think I blacked out for a moment and then just waited for the day. I envisioned him calling me onstage to moonwalk with him, because I could do it so well. It was 1984 and I was now in 6th grade. It was the Victory Tour with the Jackson 5. I sat in that stadium so excited, I could hardly breathe. My mom knew I was going to blow her eardrums out so she had cotton stuffed in her ears. The lights dimmed, the crowd roared so loudly I couldn’t hear my own voice. I was so excited I almost threw up. Smoke was all over the stage as Michael’s brothers took their places. Everyone was in place except for Michael. I was dying. Then, from the bottom of the floor, into the air stood this perfect smoky figure with sequined pants and a white glove. Michael Jackson was rising from the floor of the stadium and I began to cry. I could not even help myself, the tears just flowed. I screamed so loudly I just know he heard me as he began to break out with “Wanna be startin’ somethin.” I felt connected. I felt his prescence and always have since that day. I have remained a tried and true MJ fan for 25 years. Even through the weird stages and false accusations, this lesbian was in love with Michael Jackson. When I heard of his death I had no words. Only more tears for the talent and the tragedy of his life. I never saw this coming and I am in disbelief and shock. The drug addiction is hard for me to acknowledge, but it appears I am going to have to swallow this pill..pun intended. I mourn the loss of a consumate professional, an icon like no other, a friend to the world, a man whom you never saw angry, a man who never had the chance to “be normal.” I still hear that faint goodbye from his concert so many years ago, “goodbye, goodnight, I love you all.”  I love you too Michael. May you finally have peace.

The Gay Bug

gay-superman-spiderman-32780.jpgSo I was in the pool yesterday, enjoying the wonderful sunshine, burning my flesh of course. I had family over so there were several people enjoying the gorgeousness of the day. However, isn’t there always a however, the gay bug struck. What do I mean you ask? Well, I am the only person to get my flesh sucked and gnarled on by some mysterious bug floating around the crystal blue waters. I felt the stinging on my arm and I looked over and saw a very strange looking thing on my fat flesh that left a big ole welt on my arm. As I was the only casualty, I can only assume it is the super bug put out by the anti-gay movement to kill us all off quickly. The gay bug got me and I will update you with my symptoms.Tongue out

Kate Gosselin Spanks Her Daughter: So F****in What!

amd_kate.jpgSo the big news now is that Kate spanked Leah. Are you friggin’ kidding me? This is what we as society are going to crucify this woman for? She smacked the kid on her ass for God sake. Millions of parents have done the same thing, just not under the watchful eye of the paparazzi.  Jon Gosselin probably spanked Deanna and no one cares!!! I must have a differing opinion because I am gay and should never have kids, eh? LMAO…here is the story. Let me know your thoughts.

“Don’t get on Kate Gosselin’s bad side.

Once again, the matriarch of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” has found herself at the center of the media limelight, this time for spanking one of her eight children.

Mama Gosselin allegedly grabbed her daughter, Leah, by the arm and smacked her rear end before walking away from the crying child.

Photos released by In Touch Weekly show Gosselin holding her squirming child by the arm, and the next image of Leah crying and holding her rear. The photos do not actually reveal Gosselin’s hand touching her daughter.

According to the magazine, Leah had been asked to stop blowing a whistle and was not listening.

“The girl was screaming and crying. Kate just pushed her away and walked off with her coffee,” a witness told In Touch. “Her older sisters were trying to make Leah feel better.”

In response to the recent controversy, Gosselin is defending her actions.

“Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first,” Gosselin told Life & Style Weekly. “I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation.”

The Gosselin clan has long been under a watchful camera lens thanks to their TLC reality show, but the family has recently received extra public scrutiny due to an allegedly crumbling marriage and accusations of extramarital affairs.”

Carradine’s Death Must be Foul Play?

artdavidcarradinegi.jpgDavid Carradine’s wife and his manager disputed suggestions that the actor’s death was a suicide, while rescue workers and police in Bangkok, Thailand, said the actor’s neck and genitals were found bound with rope. A picture in the Bangkok rag, Thai Rath shows the deceased body of Carradine. This is quite disrespectful to the family. However, my opinion follows.

The man was married 5 times, lived with Barbara Hershey in the 70’s and had loads of kids. The guy was a sex addict and if you can not see this plain and simple, you have an issue. It is no secret that Carradine had darkness inside him. It was evident in his eyes and his mannerisms.

“I do not know if you want to call it accidental,” Chuck Binder, Carradine’s manager, told CNN’s Larry King on Thursday. He said Carradine’s career was on a roll.

Binder said a producer of the movie, “Stretch,” which Carradine was to act in, called him from Thailand to tell him what was happening there.

“I do not want to get in the middle of this whole investigation, but this guy said to me for sure there was foul play,” Binder said.

I would make the assumption that if you were found with rope tied to your dick and your neck in hotel closet in Bangkok, you would fight for a dignified death too. The only dignity that could come of this would be murder and it’s obvious as to why his family is pushing the issue. They know the man. They know how he really died. And so do we.

David Carradine: In the Closet?

Published by djfunkyslick under Gay/Lesbian Edit This

And people exclaim that “the gays are fucking animals and they are murderers!” Really? Are we really?

” Police speculated yesterday that accidental suffocation, not suicide, may have caused the death of actor David Carradine, whose body was found in a hotel closet in Bangkok with a rope tied to his neck, wrist, and genitals. The circumstances under which he died have led to speculation that the 72-year-old actor may have been engaged in a dangerous form of sex play known as auto-erotic asphyxiation. (AP)

So Will You March?

Published by djfunkyslick under Gay/Lesbian Edit This

Gay Pride. What does it mean to you? Does it mean marching in a parade? Does it mean screaming from the rooftops in a pink tutu or a green flannel? I read an article today by G L Franklyn which evoked a lot of thought about this for me. You read it now and tell me what you think. Will you march?

Gay.Com sent out their newsletter this week and I was really engaged by one of the questions they asked. “Do we need Gay Pride Parades anymore?” My mind started racing through things like: Are they relevant, do they serve a purpose in a nation standing on the verge of legalizing marriage for everyone regardless of sexual orientation? Have we won the biggest chunk of our fight for equality?

Back in the early 80s when I was a practicing homosexual, (I’m no longer practicing; I’m actually BEING Gay now!) Gay Pride was a big issue on a personal level. I needed to make a statement about being gay. I’ve been out for 30 years now and the statement lacks the urgency it once had. The resistance to my being gay has, likewise, diminished as being gay has become more accepted.

For me, Gay Pride’s relevance has all but disappeared. Not so for millions of folks who are younger than me and/or are still “Practicing” homosexuals. I wouldn’t want to yank the carpet out from under such an important right of passage for them. I think that as long as anyone is made to feel “Less Than” because of their sexual orientation, Gay Pride is relevant and it should remain a big deal for as long as they still need to make that statement about being gay. Small Town America needs it a lot more than Urban America does. There is still a huge amount of social pressures on young gay people not to be who they are and until that pressure subsides, Gay Pride is still relevant.

My big problem with modern Gay Pride celebrations is corporate support. It has that whorish, “I accept you” vibe that is based on product promotion and has no other thing in its soul. Another is the organizers of Pride events trying to play into that vibe. They are the folks who want all gay people to tone it down at pride events to make them “Family Friendly” (translation = More acceptable to straight people and more comfortable for parents to expose their kids to). What these folks don’t understand is that pride in being Gay, is different than pride in being straight. We are NOT straight and that’s the point of having a Pride Celebration to begin with.

“Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore!”

Being gay is, at least in part, about sex. And sex is NOT for children! Gay pride events shouldn’t be sanitized or geared for them either. Gay people are different from straight people, trying to compel us to act like them dilutes who we are and that goes against the whole cultural point of being proud of that difference.

Gay people are not any more monolithic than any other cultural expression. There are sub groups and people who are completely outside the box altogether. As more and more gay people get married and begin to raise children, new events will naturally spring up to support that part of being gay and there SHOULD be such events! Gay Pride is not such an event. Gay pride is about pride in being different and it is necessary for so many gay people to break out and express that difference openly. Much of that expression, sexuality for example, is for adults. Sanitizing it for children represses the very thing needing expression!

So, as the 40th Anniversary of StoneWall and Gay Pride Parades across the country approach, “Yes, Gay Pride Celebrations are relevant!” I’m hoping that these celebrations are, to those who are following me in line, everything they were to me when I needed them. And I hope those who DO continue to need Gay Pride resist with all their might, any attempts to make them into something they were never meant to be! You are FABULOUS, my darlings, on Gay Pride Day, BE FABULOUS right out loud!” GREGORY FRANKLYN

Pride Month People! Woot

Published by djfunkyslick under Gay/Lesbian Edit This

In honor of Pride Month, I thought I would share a Miss Caliboobaliciousfornia story with you all. Carrie Prejean you little vixen….I know you have a rainbow flag in your room. Here goes:

Star is reporting that Francine Coppola, Prejean’s mother, was allegedly sleeping with a woman up until the night of the Miss USA competition.

“Yes, Francine [Coppola] and I dated,” Valerie Vetrano, an openly-gay woman, told Star.

I had heard rumblings of Miss California Carrie Prejean’s parents slinging mud at each other during their messy divorce – including accusing each other of being gay – but the story has grown much more interesting.”

Wow…her momma ain’t got her support, eh? HAPPY GAY MONTH!Kiss

Celebs Protest Prop 8

Published by djfunkyslick under Gay/Lesbian Edit This

fp_3064934_barrymore_drew_mai_052609.jpgThousands of California citizens protested the state’s Supreme Court ruling that upheld the ban on  — including some of Hollywood’s finest and D-List!

Kathy Griffin, Drew Barrymore, Perez Hilton, Emmy Rossum, Shanna Moakler, Pete Wentz, Mark Hoppus, Kelly Osbourne, Luke Worrall, Eliza Dushku, Deborah Gibson and Sophia Bush were among the celebs who turned out for a West Hollywood rally to campaign for the right of same-sex couples to marry.

“Please overturn this,” Barrymore said in a public plea. “You can not define love and you can not define a family.”

Now, two lawyers who argued on opposite sides of the Bush-Gore election battle are teaming up to challenge the upholding of Proposition 8. Theodore B. Olson and David Boies filed a challenge against the proposition in Federal Court, arguing that preventing same-sex marriage is a “violation of the equal protection and due process clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.”

The recent filing could push the fight for gay rights all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
