A Fat Gay

Apparently Adam “Glamerican Idol” Lambert was not kidding when he told the press that his much-anticipated debut album, For Your Entertainment, would sound “as if a ’70s time-capsule blasted off into space and you’re watching it through a holographic filter.” Because if one can judge an album by its holographic cover, that is EXACTLY what For Your Entertainment is going to sound like. Ellen DeGeneres is dancing her way into the fourth judge’s seat on “American Idol.” Fox announced Wednesday the talk show host and comedian, who admittedly has no formal music experience other than a passion for tunes, would join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the ninth season starting in January.The announcement all but seals the departure of Paula Abdul, who announced she was quitting the show amid a contract dispute in July.

DeGeneres told her talk show audience in an episode scheduled to air Thursday that she would not abandon her Emmy-winning chatfest, but would have “a day job and a night job.”

“The times we’re living in,” she quipped, “we’re all doing that.”

Abdul had been replaced by a succession of guest judges as “American Idol” started next season’s auditions. Among them: Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry and Shania Twain — but not the 51-year-old DeGeneres.

“Hopefully, I’m the people’s point of view because I’m just like you,” DeGeneres said on her show. “I sit at home and I watch it, and I don’t have that technical … I’m not looking at it in a critical way from the producer’s mind. I’m looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person.”

So I seem to be focusing heavily on this Adam Lambert issue. As all the straight people will wail, “it’s only because he’s gay that you wanted him to win and you are upset,” I will continue to say otherwise. In essence I could return that same comment to the Kris Allen voters then. You only wanted him to win because he is straight. Stupid comment right? Well, when you get down to the nitty gritty of it all, it’s not as stupid as we might think. Hence the name LambertGate! I’m so clever. When I found out that Danny Goeke’s pastor was reigning in the Danny votes for Kris because he is a “believer,” I knew Idol had become just as politico as everything else.

Obviously 19 Entertainment is not at all prepared to have a gay man as an American Idol. Seeing as they classify themselves as a family show, yet Simon can say some of the most hateful and hurtful things ever right to these people’s faces, being gay is a no go. Idol is officially classified as homophobic now. No one will ever convince me that Kris Allen got the winning number of votes. No way. No how.  If Adam was not gay, I would still be furious. I juat have a motive now to base my suspicions on that Idol too is fixed. It was a sad day for me because I have been a devoted Idol fan since the beginning. I did not think Clay Aiken should have won, so please do not tell me I only root for the gays.  I root for the talent. Period. Adam Lambert is the talent.

I do not even think I have words to describe the anger. If this does not constitute one uttering the phrase, “FIXED!” I don’t know what does. While I think Kris Allen is talented, there is absolutely NO WAY he should have won this competition. Adam Lambert losing American Idol is like Obama losing the presidential election. It was clear cut. But of course, and there is always a but, AI had to keep the show alive. They had to keep people enthralled for next season that anything can happen. Even Kris Allen himself stated, “Adam deserves this.” Talk about PRODUCED. Well you all have my big, fat, gay, Adam Lambert supporting voice refusing to ever watch American Idol again. I have said this in another post, Lambert is by far the most talented individual to ever walk the AI stage. I say this, ya’ll just watch this boy become a friggin’ superstar. Carrie Underwood made a little over 14 million last year. Lambert will be a phenom like no other and double that money guaranteed.

And I will state one more time. IT”S NOT BECAUSE HE IS GAY! One last note, excellent finale they put on this season especially Queen and Rod Stewart.
